STRUCTURAL DESIGN FEATURES:

Billion Plaza II is a unique application of pre-engineered buildings and specialized design team collaboration. One of the challenges of the project was coordination between the building manufacturer, architect, builder and engineer of record. Hicks Engineering successfully integrated with all design team members. Specific features of interest include a full height basement at the oil lube shop in high ground water with an elevated slab supporting vehicular traffic. The buildings’ lateral system included haunched moment frames, braced frames, and buckling restrained braces (BRBs).
