STRUCTURAL DESIGN FEATURES:

This project utilized light framed wood construction. One unique feature of this home is the foundation system. Due to poor native expansive soils, a conventional shallow foundation consisting of standard frost walls and footing was not acceptable. In order to keep costs low, different deep foundation alternatives were researched. The system chosen was a helical pier system with perimeter and interior grade beams used to support the superstructure.
