Project Description:

This four-story hotel incorporates a large conference center and swimming pool to accommodate guests. The cantilevered column porte-cochere welcomes guests as it shelters them from the weather.

STRUCTURAL DESIGN FEATURES:

The wood-framed hotel consists of open-web wood trusses at the roof level to aid in the installation of mechanical and electrical systems. The floors consist of i-joist floor framing per owner’s request. The bearing wall stud grades are varied with height for the most cost effective vertical support system available. Also, wood shear walls are strategically placed to provide optimal performance and minimize costs. The result is a value engineered structure that optimizes material and labor to save time and money for the project.
